Group Health Options

Group Health Options used to be relatively uncomplicated. Unfortunately, it is becoming more involved. Options is an out of network benefit for some people with Group Health. Not all plans are Options plans. It will say on the front of your card if you have it.

Requirements:

• Referral for massage – they require it. No exceptions.
• Massage must be medically necessary! (Most insurances won’t cover preventative massage.)
• There is new paperwork that we practitioners have to fill out with and for you. Regular Group Health has required it for years and now us out-of-network practitioners must abide. Once filled out we must send it in to them.
• There is the possibility that preauthorization from Group Health must be obtained before massage treatment can start.
